Tania Edmunds - Lyric Soprano
Lyric Soprano, with over 25 years performing and teaching experience in Australia and overseas. Classically trained, Licentiate in Music, Australia LMusA (Singing) 1989. Her musical experience extends from Opera, Operetta and music theatre.
Performances include 'Countess' from Marriage of Figaro and 'Fiordigligi' from Cosi fan Tutte with the Mozart Festival, Cape Town, South Africa. A sell-out season as principal in 'Oscars Wild!' a musical tribute to the Academy Awards, Baxter Theatre, Cape Town 1993 ('An evening of sparkling singing, especially from the lead, Australian soprano Tania Edmunds' - The Argus, Cape Town). Bach and Handel recitals for the University of Cape Town (UCT) 1990 to 1993. Tania sang the rolls of 'Tessa' in The Gondoliers and 'Buttercup' H.M.S. Pinafore, Gilbert and Sullivan which toured South Africa. Since 2000 - Tania is the Principal Soprano with Opera Eagle’s Nest and has performed in over 300 OEN concerts and performances since 2003.
She is also the voice teacher and choir mistress at St. Hilda’s School, Southport since 1996. Canterbury College voice teacher 1997 – 2002 and Trinity Lutheran College and more recently voice teacher and choir mistress at The Southport School (TSS).
