William Mason

Prior to retiring, I worked for 30 years as a professional librarian at the State Library of Queensland and the Queensland Department of Primary Industries. Since becomming a volunteer at the Beaudesert Museum I have constructed a 1600 page index of Beaudesert district history documents held at the Beaudesert Museum. I have also written a booklet on Aboriginal Elders of the Scenic Rim and a book on the 1937 Stinson Crash. I have just completed a 370 page book entitled The Soldiers and Nurses of the Beaudesert District in World War 1,containing the stories of 630 soldiers and nurses, including the indigenous soldiers from the district, to be published with a grant from the Queensland Government Anzac Centenary Fund, and I am beginning the research for a companion volume entitled The Beaudesert District Home Front in World War 1.
