DESCRIPTION

Mount Alford War Memorial contains a 'digger' statue which is the smallest on a war memorial in Queensland. The memorial is dedicated to those pupils from the school and those of the district who had enlisted in World War One.

The war memorial was unveiled in the school grounds on the 25th May 1918 by Mr J. D. Story, Under Secretary for Education. The Brisbane Courier (Qld), 29th May 1918.
