2018 STUDIOS MAP location #6

Our Arts Collective members are a multi-talented group whose skills and expertise include painting, printmaking, drawing, textile techniques such as millinery, felting, dyeing, freeform fibre manipulation pottery and ceramics. Shannon Hunter, a passionate felter and freeform fibre artisan is driven by the myriad colourways and textural outcomes to create beautiful original objects and wearables. Marianne Halpin, inspired by the colours of central Australia on a recent trip, has produced paintings and drawings reflecting her interpretation of the landscape, as well as mixed media drawings of birds on recycled materials. Betty Bull uses techniques in felting to create original and unique garments. Her work in eco-dyeing involves using natural dyes and native leaves and lichens. Her passion is to explore and experiment with colour and texture. Helen Griffin has recently discovered printmaking and is keen to experiment with its many possibilities. She is also always on the lookout for an opportunity to further explore her landscape painting inspired by her travels. Margaret Smit, a milliner, enjoys blending colours and making articles to wear that are unique, in particular hand-made felt hats. Denise Shellshear produces beautiful felted items using eco-dyed silk, and merino, as well as making felted sculptures.  Sue Morris, Caroline Lister, Linda Harden and Marj Simonsen (members of the Wags -Wearable Art Girls) explore textiles in interesting and unique ways. Doreen Wendt-Weir is a published local author and textile artist.

The various artists will be demonstrating their artistic skills during the day on both Saturday and Sunday.
Fashion Parade of wearable art items at 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
