Roman Rudnytsky Piano Recital 22nd Australian Concert Tour 

Roman Rudnytsky is an internationally-active American concert pianist of Ukrainian origin who has been performing around the world for many years.

Roman is a graduate of America's most prestigious music conservatory, the Juilliard School in New York. Born in 1942, in New York City, into a family of professional musicians, he began the study of piano at age four and gave his first full recital at age seven.

Roman has performed in over 100 countries. He is prizewinner of ten international and national piano competitions, both in the USA and in Europe. He was also second placed, in 1965 in the International Leventritt Competition, the premier piano and violin international competition in the USA in those years.

He has been soloist with many orchestras around the world, playing with them nearly fifty different works for piano and orchestra. Through US Embassies and Consulates, he has played concerts and conducted masterclasses with repeat visits to a good number of them and played many recitals as the classical pianist on nearly seventy cruises of P&O and Cunard ships from the UK.

In 1993, he gave the Australian premiere performance with the SBS Youth Orchestra of the then-recently-discovered Liszt Concerto No.3 in E Flat for piano and orchestra. The SBS made a documentary of this, called "Discovering Liszt", and featured this performance as the centerpiece of the documentary. It was broadcast several times over their TV network.

Roman Rudnytsky also served twice as Artist-in-Residence at the Univ. of Melbourne Faculty of Music and once at the Univ.of Wollongong School of Creative Arts.

Roman Rudnytsky, in addition to his concertizing, has also been a professor of piano and music at three Universities in the USA----the main one being Youngstown State University----- Dana School of Music-in Youngstown, Ohio, where he served on the piano and music faculty for many years. He received a"Distinguished Professor Award" and is now "Professor Emeritus" of that institution.
