To be held on the banks of Wyaralong Dam; Fire on Water will incorporate the First Nations Shared Fire Project and The Shared Fire Community Story Project in a narrative that weaves fire, light, theatre, community choirs, dance and orchestra at a significant eco-tourism site within the heart of the Scenic Rim.

The event will be held on dusk and conclude in time for attendees to return to their homes or if broadcast rights are viable as part of sponsorship/funding to any of the three outdoor screens to see the closing ceremony for the Games.

It is envisaged that a key part of the event will be sculptural fires and fire installations on floating barges on the water and a welcome ceremony between representatives from across the Commonwealth and the Indigenous community. It is also envisaged that there will be beacon lights positioned around the dam that will be part of this project and will be able to be seen from the region.
