ON EXHIBITION PROGRAM @THE CENTRE BEAUDESERT

 

The Centre Beaudesert Regional Gallery presents a year-long program of significant community and touring exhibitions, public programs and workshops as part of the Cultural Services program. Artists and groups within the Scenic Rim and beyond are invited to submit Exhibitions proposals for consideration.
 

THE CENTRE BEAUDESERT REGIONAL GALLERY FEATURES

Located in the business centre of Beaudesert, this Scenic Rim Regional Council cultural venue is a modern flexible multipurpose art space (The Centre Beaudesert Gallery Layout - PDF) including:

  • gallery spaces throughout the venue which accommodate: a major exhibition or multiple smaller displays or group shows presented concurrently.
  • over 65 running metres wall space - static and mobile gallery walls
  • soaring atriums with 4mt feature walls
  • prominent street gallery window (weight limits apply)
  • standard gallery hanging system, magnetic display system
  • built-in lockable wall cabinets, freestanding plinths and display cabinets (weight limits apply)
  • AV monitors, limited projection facilities.
  • CCTV security system

Exhibition Spaces

SELECTION CRITERIA

Selection of exhibition proposals is based on:

  • Creative excellence - a great idea, executed well
  • Community interest and/or demonstrated attendance figures (for touring exhibitions)
  • Budget (co-funded opportunities welcome)
  • Demonstrated experience, skill and knowledge of participating artists
  • Timeframes and availability.

WHAT WE DO

  • Host the exhibition, provide staff and security throughout the exhibition period and manage all sales (where applicable) for the artists.
  • SRRC will develop an Exhibition Agreement with successful applicants which includes key timelines, promotional and marketing requirements, fees (where specified), insurance, sales & commission, copyright, attribution etc.
  • SRRC will promote and market the exhibition and distribute marketing collateral to artists, media and community as required.
  • Assist applicants in the presentation of the exhibition and associated activities and make the final determination on the layout of the Exhibition.

WHAT WE ASK OF EXHIBITING ARTISTS AND GROUPS

  • Liaise with SRRC Gallery Curator and staff to develop and present the exhibition as outlined in the Exhibition Agreement.
  • Sign and abide by the conditions of the Exhibition Agreement and meet the key timelines and requirements. Provide by due dates in the Agreement: hi res images of artworks, valuation listings and exhibition information for presentation and marketing.
  • Give permission for artworks and information to be reproduced for SRRC marketing and reporting purposes.
  • Ensure the artist's artwork does not infringe the Intellectual Property Rights of any person and shall indemnify SRRC against all costs, expenses and liabilities.
  • Participate in Public Programs and community engagement activities as agreed.
  • For artists with exhibition work for sale, confirm their Public Liability cover.
  • Deliver and collect artworks on the dates arranged. SRRC is unable to store artworks.

HOW TO SUBMIT A PROPOSAL

To be considered, please forward your proposal to thecentre@scenicrim.qld.gov.au  and include the following:

  • Name or contact person
  • Street Address
  • Contact number
  • Email address
  • Proposal type:
    • Performance
    • Exhibition
    • Workshop
  • An outline or rationale of the proposed performance/exhibition/workshop indicating all costs involved and limited to one A4 page.
  • A Curriculum Vitae for each artist or arts group involved.
  • 4-6 high resolution images of recent work (at least 1MB each).  At least 4 images must be of the proposed work/performance/workshop.
  • Timeframes and availability.
