Be part of this exciting weekend for writers. Meet and mingle with experienced and aspiring writers as well as established professionals. A highlight of the festival is the dinner on Saturday evening with guest speaker - the award-winning journalist and local lad Rick Morton. The Boonah Writers Festival supports and fosters arts in the community and surrounding districts, with emphasis on authorship.

Historical & Genealogical writing with author Mary-Rose MacColl - Tips for researching and using historical settings and characters. How to use genealogy (your own or someone else's)  to write memoirs or family stories.

Forensics and Crime with a Queensland police detective - What happens at a crime scene? Learn how to write about the processing of a crime scene, the role of the detective at the scene, tracking the "perp"  and using forensics. Maybe it isn't quite like CSI!

Contemporary Fiction with author Louise Cusack - Romance, cossies and ripping yarns with the very lucrative female market in mind.

Editing  with author Lynne Stringer - All you should know about editing.

Script writing for TV and movies writer and comedian Greg Bird - Learn about self editing and preparing your writing for publication and submission. Learn how to turn ideas into scripts, write dialogue and what makes a good script for film or television.

Science Fiction and Fantasy with author Anita Bell - All about writing in another galaxy or dimension and creating alien characters. The truth is out there!

Young adult fiction with author Michael Bauer - A specific and very popular genre with a growing audience. Learn how to tap into the young adult interests, what they read and what they want to read.
