The Scenic Rim Regional Council partnering with the South West Queensland Regional Services Network and Arts Front to bring you these fun, online events.

Arts Front

This event commences at 6.30 pm - facilitation by Bronwyn Davies (SRRC) and Michelle Blair ( SWQRASN) - with a Welcome from Geraldine Page (Aunty Gerry), a Mununjali Traditional Owner, followed by a performance of the Mununjali Ngari: a group of emerging leaders set to make their careers in performing arts.With movement heavily traditional in nature, these artists are committed to cultural narratives of inclusion and creating unique dance to the old story. Then, our spotlight on eat local takes us this week to Towri Sheep Cheeses.


Towri Sheep Cheeses, is an Artisan Boutique Sheep Dairy and Cheese Room producing Award-Winning Hand-Crafted Sheep Milk Cheeses, situated at Allenview near Beaudesert.

Following on from the welcome and performance, a panel discussion will dive into the theme of the evening, Cultural TourismOur guest panel includes: Sharee Bauld (Cultural Tourism), Jonathon Fisher (former CEO National Trust of Australia), Scott McDuff (Scenic Rim Regional Council), Rory O'Connor (Yugambeh Museum), Susan Rallings (Making Good Alliance), and Melissa Robertson (ARTS CONNECT). 

 

Sharee Bauld is the Senior Project Officer (Cultural Tourism) Marketing, Advertising & Digital Queensland Art Gallery at the Gallery of Modern Art. Sharee is an international tourism and business specialist, with 20+ years’ experience delivering innovative, pragmatic, context-specific, demand-driven solutions across private sector, government, non-government, bilateral and multilateral organisations.

Jonathan Fisher is the former CEO of the National Trust of Australia (Queensland and Currumbin Sanctuary) and has worked in the non-profit organization management industry. Jonathan is currently, the CEO of Binna Burra Lodge and is a business development professional with a Master of Arts (M.A.) focused in Marketing/Marketing Management.

Scott McDuff is the Principal Specialist Regional Events at Scenic Rim Regional Council. Scott is an experienced event producer with a demonstrated history of working in the events services industry. He is skilled in Production Management, Event Management, Volunteer Management, Sponsorship, and Social Media Outreach.

Rory O'Connor is the CEO - Yugambeh Museum Language & Heritage Research Centre. As a SE Qld traditional custodian, author, and presenter, this former journalist is the driving force behind many positive initiatives keeping Yugambeh heritage alive in the South East Region. Rory is a descendant of Jackey-Jackey, King of Logan-Pimpama, and also Jenny Graham, a prominent Aboriginal woman (SE Region).

Susan Rallings is a Director, Business Strategist, Financial Coach, Mentor and Philanthropist. Susan is a founder and director of the Making Good Alliance. Susan has a passion for empowering people to be the best version of themselves. Susan is the current Chair of the Griffith Business School Strategic Advisory Board, and a past Regional Director for UK & Europe (Tourism QLD).

Melissa Robertson from Cairns (originally Melbourne) will speak on Eco Arts Authentic Expriences Strategy. Melissa began working with Arts Nexus in 2003 as the Community Cultural Development Officer, then, as a board member and now, Program Manager. Melissa shares her 30 years national experience in the Arts. An event manager, trainer, facilitator and project manager, Melissa shares insights into the success of the ARTS CONNECT region-wide program of pop-up Arts HUBS.
