:
An alliance of local businesses has recognised the need for immediate action on climate change.

Climate change in the Scenic Rim is being experienced now as year-on-year drought, water shortages, and longer, hotter and dryer summers. There have been bushfires, property evacuations, fire bans and extended National Park closures. These climate change impacts affect the key local industries of agriculture and tourism, and also knock-on to the services industries.

Not enough is being done.  Businesses want to know the answers on how to take an individual and a whole-of-government approach in acknowledging and taking action on climate change. These businesses are uniting and mapping out pathways to act locally through the newly-formed group Business 4 Climate Action (B4CA). B4CA is a non-political, non-membership collaboration of businesses who are united in their concern about the climate crisis.

As well as connecting online, the group will gather for the first time at The Centre in Beaudesert at 10am on 10th October.

The meeting will be facilitated by Innes Larkin, owner of Mt Barney Lodge, who won the 2019 Scenic Rim Business Award for Tourism and Hospitality.

Businesses can find out more about the event on Facebook @Business4ClimateAction and can also register to attend there.   Contact Tracey – 55443233
